What about Project Scrapbook?

I had to stay home from church this morning. I've been feeling quite sickly the past few days. Was it the Dutch Apple Pie? Nah. Couldn't be. I relaxed in bed, only a few feet from the bathroom watching Project Runway, Season One. I am so unbelieveably amazed with what those people can do with a needle and some fabric. It has captivated me. I believe I will find my way through youtube searching for a way to be impressed through all seasons I've missed. What time constraints they have! I read up on the winner, Jay McCarroll. Apparently, he did not accept the conditions of his winnings (100,000 dollars and a mentorship with Banana Republic) and declined the opportunity. But, why, Jay?

I also managed to scraplift this lovely page from Celine Navarro. She is awesome!

Here's mine.As you can see, it really isn't much different. Can you tell I love her stuff!!!!

This is...

This is what an 8-hr scrapbook page looks like.

I just couldn't get the flow going. Finally I got myself some creativity jolts with the help of a Caramel Mocha Latte. Mmmmmm

The week of the 24th

I spent all day yesterday going through countless embellishments. And, of course, finding those little hidden treasures that I didn't even know I had (yay!).

I also have to admit taking some scrap breaks to play my daughter's Guitar Hero III that she got for Christmas. Soooo addicting!
And poor Mimi wanted me to put down the guitar and play with her...

Randomness

I've been feeling oh-so romantic lately and decided to scrap a mini about when my husband proposed. Here's what I've got going on so far.

Today's Blessing!

Wow! I can't believe it! Tammy @ the paper niche actually asked me to be a part of their Design Team. Did you get that? "Design Team" My husband says, "I told you you were good, baby." So now I am off to create some super fab layouts!!! Here's some more stuff from Scrap Pink Weekend!

Scrap Pink Weekend

This Friday night was a blast and a half. About 20 ladies showed up to the 25 hour scrap marathon at the Paper Niche. I got there around 9pm and much to my suprise, I stayed up scrapping ALL NIGHT long! It was great! And I must say, I think I did my best work, java'd up and giggling away.

Rebecca

Yes, she's taller than me and ALWAYS greets me with this huge sunshiney grin. I love that about her. Oh, and she also ROCKS!

Sunny Sunday

I decided I was finally going to cut my hair. I'd been wanting to do it for years. And, no that wasn't a piece that had forgotten to be cut. I left it there to twirl in my fingers while deep in thought about layouts, techniques, and turning trash to cherished treasures. Yes, I looove my new cut -- 6 inches, Rhonda estimated.

This is the way I used to have it in high school -- circa Daisy Gamble's bob in On a Clear Day.

Rebecca told me I would look like an old lady if I cut it. I beg to differ.

In other news, we started the Altered Book Club yesterday. The turn out was small, but seems promising. I have so many ideas and I'm really excited to see something like this take off! Zoom! (cheesy, I know). I hear my husband's soft 'zzzz's so I think I will join him. Whatever will I dream up this afternoon.

The Guitar Pic Tin

I am had so much fun creating this little trinket for my bro. And he was so holy last week when we were praying it just made me feel so special to be his big sis. Here is a sneek peek of the Altoid Tin I altered for him. He said he loves it!

Fab Finds

So, here I am writing my first blog. Well, as the subject goes, I've found something fabulous (actually a few somethings). I decided to take a trip to The Rag Shop, just a quick look (yeah, we all know what that means) after an uneventful visit to The Red, White, and Blue Thrift Store. And while the day was a scorching 104 degrees, I managed to keep my cool when I saw the florescent signs -- GOING OUT OF BUSINESS SALE. While yet another sign yelled, EVERYTHING MUST GO, I only left 28 dollars worth.
I spy something large and wooden and black. Yes, it's the cork/chalkboard. I was thinking for the great bargain price of 4 dollars, I could turn it into a priceless piece of craft-aliciousness. OH Yeah, the juices are flowin'! And yes, those are some hip paisley rub-ons, awesome wide ribbons, cool papers, the cutest buttons, and the most adorable chipboard letters! I can't wait to see what these treasures these can make!
